Linatab M 2.5/850 Tablet

Linatab M 2.5/850 Tablet is a fixed-dose combination of Linagliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride, indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Linagliptin, a DPP-4 inhibitor, works by increasing incretin hormone levels, thereby promoting glucose-dependent insulin secretion and suppressing glucagon release. Metformin, a biguanide, reduces hepatic glucose production and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity.

This combination provides complementary mechanisms of action, resulting in more effective blood glucose control compared to monotherapy. It is particularly beneficial for patients who do not achieve adequate glycemic control with a single antidiabetic agent.

For optimal tolerability, especially regarding gastrointestinal effects associated with metformin, the tablet should be taken with meals. Dosage should be individualized based on patient response and clinical condition, under the supervision of a registered physician. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels is recommended during therapy.
