Linatab Tablet contains Linagliptin 5 mg, an oral antidiabetic medication belonging to the class of DPP-4 (dipeptidyl peptidase-4) inhibitors. It works by increasing the levels of incretin hormones, which help regulate blood sugar by increasing insulin release and decreasing glucagon levels in a glucose-dependent manner.
It is indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus, either as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin. One of its advantages is that it does not require dose adjustment in patients with renal impairment.
Linatab is usually taken once daily, with or without food, as directed by a registered physician. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels is recommended during treatment.
